Student Academic Policies

 

  1. Make-Up Work: Students are responsible for making up all work missed due to absence.

  2. Homework: All students are given regular homework assignments. Homework should be turned in on time to receive the credit.

  3. Quizzes and Exams: For Chinese language programs, exams are given at mid-semester and at the end of semester. Quizzes will also be given throughout the semester to monitor the progress of students.

  4. Report Cards: Report cards for Chinese language programs are issued at the mid-semester and at the end of the semester. Parents may view students’ report cards online at the school's web site.

  5. Awards: Honor roll and awards are given at end of the school year to students who registered in both Fall and Spring semesters in Chinese language programs and attended class 80% of the time. Additional requirements are:

    Academic Excellence Award :  Met minimum of 80% in attendance; Achieved academic

                                   excellence by earning 90 out of 100 in exams.

                         Citizenship Award :  Showed respect to others; Followed all school rules;

                                                         Demonstrated positive work attitude; Participated in class

                                                         and extra-curriculum activities; Met minimum of 80% in

                                                         attendance.

     

  6. Placement Exam: New and returning students who register Chinese language programs are required to take the placement exam administrated by the school at beginning of each semester if one wishes to advance to Chinese Level II

  7. Advancement & Graduation: Teachers will advise whether a student can advance into the next level.
