Summer Chinese Culture Camp (June 6-July 1)

Fox Valley Chinese School and Appleton YMCA jointly offer this program for students of ages 6-12 to have an opportunity experiencing Chinese culture, arts and traditions.  Exposing to the daily activities that Chinese kids have, campers will learn Mandarin Chinese, songs and stories; play Chinese style games; try hands on Chinese calligraphy, painting, and making Chinese handicraft; make and taste Chinese foods; and so much more. Playing, learning and building up friendship.  It is going to be a wonderful experience for your child.  The program consists of four parallel themes, each per week; identical morning and afternoon sessions.

 

Chinese Panda (Jun 6-10)

Featuring activities: Daily Mandarin Chinese (human body/family); Chinese traditions (I); songs and stories; games (I); origami; drawing panda; making jiaozi (dumpling).

M-F             9:00am-12:00pm (morning session)

M-F             1:00pm-4:00pm (afternoon session)

 

Chinese Rabbit (Jun 13-17)

Featuring activities: Daily Mandarin Chinese (colors/numbers), Chinese traditions (II); songs and stories; games (II); paper cutting; drawing rabbit; making wonton.

M-F             9:00am-12:00pm (morning session)

M-F             1:00pm-4:00pm (afternoon session)

 

Chinese Dragon (Jun 20-24)

Featuring activities: Daily Mandarin Chinese (school/animals), Chinese traditions (III); songs and stories; games (III); braiding; drawing dragon; making zongzi.

M-F             9:00am-12:00pm (morning session)

M-F             1:00pm-4:00pm (afternoon session)

 

Chinese Flower (Jun 27-Jul 1)

Featuring activities:  Daily Mandarin Chinese (plants/fruits), Chinese traditions (IV); songs and stories; games (IV); sewing; drawing plum flower; making baozi.

M-F             9:00am-12:00pm (morning session)

M-F             1:00pm-4:00pm (afternoon session)

HOW TO REGISTER:

1. Register at any YMCA of the Fox Cities Front Desk or online at www.ymcafoxcities.org under “Online Registration”.

2. $25.00 deposit due for each camp at the time of registration. The remaining balance will due one-week prior to the scheduled camp.

3. Transfers or cancellation can be made until May 8, 2011 After this date the deposit will be non-transferable and non-refundable.

4. Registration begins on January 4th and is open until one week before the camp begins or camp is at maximum capacity.
